SusWoT’s Litter Round Volunteers do a great job of keeping the streets and green spaces in Westbury-on-Trym tidy. With help from the Bristol Civic Society and the Quartet Community Foundation, we are starting to take this idea across the whole city.
We clean up an area in two steps:
Step 1: The Deep Clean: A team of volunteers spends a few months clearing away all the old rubbish and flytipping that has built up over time.

Step 2: Keep It Clean: We find local volunteers to look after a specific street or small green space. This involves picking up any fresh rubbish as it appears, stopping it from building up and becoming a problem again.

We give our volunteers all the equipment and support they need. You can pick litter whenever suits you, and report any issues directly to the Council using FixMyStreet.
Our Progress
After spending several months deep-cleaning Southmead, our teams are now working in Henbury.
