Biodiversity

Westbury-on-Trym and its surrounds is very rich in biodiversity. We are blessed with the rivers Trym and Hazel Brook and Avon. We have the Blaise Estate, Badock’s Wood and the Downs.  The nearby Avon Gorge has very rare wildlife.

SusWoT has been working since 2019 to remove the invasive Himalayan Balsam from the Trym and Hazel Brook, which is out of control on some rivers in the area. By regularly removing litter from the green spaces along the Trym and other places in the area SusWoT is giving local wildlife a chance.
